Is anyone else on this combination and have you had any problems with it as I know hydroxychloroquine can cause eye sight problems. Can plaquenil cause dry mouth Plaquenil withdrawal symptoms Methotrexate vs plaquenil side effects long term and short term The only problem is the Plaquenil causes severe headaches that interfer with my daily activities also. But the Dr suggested I try Methotrexate instead. With Plaquenil, the possibility of permanent vision damage scares me. I also want to be sure that I'm taking a drug that will slow/stop the progression of the disease. I've read elsewhere that Plaquenil is not as strong/effective in the treatment of early RA. With Methotrexate, the reports of nausea and possible liver damage are concerning.
