    Plaquenil no period

I’m 31 now (I’m also single - if it’s important to know). I do have lupus with neutropenia though and I’m on prednisolone, mycophenolate, asprin (I also have APS) and our good pal plaquenil. (I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 18.) The symptoms you’re describing sound like PCOS symptoms more than anything. Anyone facing menstrual issues with these medications or due to lupus? An ultrasound of your ovaries can confirm PCOS if they didn’t do this when you were younger. Also, by menstrual issues I mean that I’ve my cycles are getting longer and the last time I had period it was after 3 months and after taking regestrone.

The more common usage of the term remission would be to be “in remission on medications, or quiescent." This means that the person with lupus is taking Plaquenil® hydroxychloroquine and/or other medications and is doing well with no evidence of lupus manifestations such as arthritis, rash, kidney involvement, blood cell count problems, etc. If side effects do occur, they are usually minor and last only for a short period of time. Potential side effects of anti-malarial drugs include Skin rashes and pigment change. Atabrine, specifically, can cause yellow pigmentation of skin. Sometimes Plaquenil can also deposit in the tissues of the body and cause the skin to take on a greenish. Prior to Plaquenil, I tried Mobic & Medrol, both with limited improvement. But over the last few weeks I have been able to play basketball with my son again, move without thinking or a 'warm up period', return to the gym, begin Pilates & I've lost 12 pounds!

My OB/GYN told me that it is important for women with PCOS to menstruate at least 4 times a year in order to reduce the risk of uterine cancer. The only change has been that I haven’t worked out as much as I did a couple months ago. You OB/GYN can give you progesterone to induce a period. That was 2 months ago and I’m back to no talked on my other thread— but i’m the exact same way! im not on any meds, though, but do see similarities.

Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil is used to treat malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. Learn about side effects, warnings, dosage, and more. Hydroxychloroquine HCQ, sold under the brand name Plaquenil among others, is a medication used for the prevention and treatment of certain types of malaria. Specifically it is used for chloroquine-sensitive malaria. Other uses include treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and porphyria cutanea tarda. It is taken by mouth. Plaquenil is effective for Lupus patients, as well as people with UCTD described to me by a rheumatologist as "Lupus-like" or "Lupus-lite" or "mild Lupus". So it's very possible to be on Plaquenil without having a formal Lupus diagnosis. To get a Lupus diganosis you need to have 4 or more of 11 Lupus criteria, within a 5 year period.
