Plaquenil and Increased tendency to bruise - from FDA reports Summary Increased tendency to bruise is found among people who take Plaquenil, especially for people who are female, 50-59 old, have been taking the drug for 6 - 12 months, also take medication Enbrel, and have Osteoporosis. I've started to get really tender shins and bruising for no reason on my legs. I've seen my gp and they are miffed and have done some blood tests. I have alot of fatigue and my legs feel heavy, im on plaquenil and nifidipine for raynauds. has anyone else had this? Then my dogs kept running into my shin on that same leg. Now my leg is this weird grayish purple color. doc says plaquenil causes the blood, that would normally dissipate, to stay in the skin cells, thus changing the pigmentation of the skin.

Cutaneous findings can aid in the discovery of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and self-neglect in elderly individuals. I’ve been on plaquenil for about 1.5 months now and I’m noticing I’ve been bruising so easily. I’ve always bruised pretty easily but they’re fairly superficial bruises, not very painful, and go away pretty quickly. These new bruises that have showed up these past few weeks are a whole different story.
